This year I added a few fuzzy spiders to my Halloween decorations. These cute spiders were super fun and easy to make. You can find the directions on how to make them here.


Stop over tomorrow to see pictures of me and my husband all dressed up for our annual Halloween party!!! Only a few more hours and I'll be transformed into...................??? You'll just have to stop back to see!

Snapshots of Life

I've been obsessed with a blog called "Eighteen25". The site features lot of crafting projects and all around family fun. It's loaded with fun ideas! (If you follow their lead, everyone will think you are a crafting genius!!!).



This week the gals at Eighteen25 started a new photo series- "Snapshots of Life". Every Wednesday evening they will post a time of the day. Your assignment on Thursday is to stop and take a picture of what you are doing at the time posted. I LOVE photo challenges and I couldn't wait to get started! I set my phone to remind me and at 5pm today I was ready!

Here's a glimpse of what I was doing at 5pm tonight.

Can you guess?? I was setting up the basement for our daycare Halloween party tomorrow! And since I can't just take one picture, here's a few more shots of my decorating--including a witchy photo of me hanging the decorations. :)

I'm coming back!

I know, I know, I know. Where have I been??? Well, I took a break from the blogging world (and scrapping!) for awhile. I've been doing a lot of reading, spending time with family/friends, and working. But, I'm kinda missing my blogging world! I don't know how much time I will have to post and I don't know what kind of topics I'll be posting about, but maybe this will encourage me to start scrapping again!

"The Cinderella Deal"

"The Cinderella Deal" by Jennifer Crusie--*** (3 stars)

The story starts by introducing Daisy Flattery and Linc Blaise, apartment neighbors who couldn't be more opposite one another. Daisy is a free spirit, animal loving artist. Linc, a history professor with cold sterile furniture. While interviewing for a new job, Linc is found trapped in a lie that may cost him the job. He turns to Daisy to help him out.

I like to call this a "nice and fluffy" book. A very romantic comedy of sorts. Follows along the lines of a modern Cinderella story. Excellent read if you are looking for something lighthearted and witty. Super quick read!

Challenge #58: The Long & The Short of It

New challenge has been posted on the Scrap Whispers blog!! This week's challenge is to create a layout with the title "The Long and The Short of It". Lots of different ideas roaming around this one!

I've been so busy with various things in my life that I didn't get a chance to complete this challenge. Hopefully, I can sneak in an hour sometime this week and do it. Until then here is an example from one of my fellow Scrap Whispers design team members--Rosey. Enjoy!

Challenge #57: 3 Circles

Circles, circles, circles!!! This week's Scrap Whispers challenge is an easy one. Create a layout (or card) with 3 circles. I got a little crazy and added a few more.

Here's my take:

"The History of Love"

"The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss--** (2 stars)
"The History of Love" travels through time following a manuscript. We are introduced to a man, Leo, who writes a novel for his long time love, Alma. Now many, many years later he is alone and struggling to survive day to day life. He even makes up ways for people to notice him--spilling coffee, posing nude for an art class, etc. Meanwhile, a 14 year old girl is on a mission to find her mother a mate. Alma finds herself trying to solve a mystery involving the book her mother is translating--The History of Love.

While I only gave this book 2 stars, I did find it very interesting. Each chapter was written (in various styles) by a different character in the book---all revolving around "The History of Love" manuscript. Because of this, the first half was very difficult to follow---moving through time spans, people, places, etc. By the end everything started to come together and I understood how everyone was connected in some way through The History of Love. The manner and wording that the author uses is very brilliant. Some people may like it better than others.
