New Creations!!!

I can't believe it's Wednesday already and I haven't posted any of my new layouts??!!! I had such a good time this past weekend at the retreat. I definitely plan to go back maybe this fall/winter sometime. I completed 18 layouts and 1 altered item!!!! I will try to post one layout each day. Don't forget to stop back for some new inspiration!!!!

This is one of my favorites from the weekend. It's a picture I took of my sister and nephew on her first Mother's Day.

Challenges:
Sketch This- I used this sketch as my base for the layout.

Dreamgirls- The challenge this month was to create a layout with the theme "first time". It also needs to include ribbon and stitching.

Once Upon a Time...

Another layout of me. I know I'm feeling a little selfish. I have to make sure there are layouts of me in the scrapbook too!!

Challenge:
Dreamgirls- Create a layout with this picture as your inspiration. You also must make the layout about YOU + corrugated cardboard must be a part of your layout somewhere. I had a lot of fun working with the corrugated cardboard. This was a first time for me. I painted the cardboard with red and orange paint. I then inked a little pink. To top it off I smeared some brown Stickles all over--to make it sparkle!

Scrappy Girl Designs- May 21st Challenge--Bling it on!! Layout must use bling of some kind. I went kinda crazy with the bling--Stickles on the cardboard, outlining the flowers, and jewels.

Proud

Finally a new layout to post! This features my son at his first music concert (last year). He had a special part in the program where he got to recite a poem in the microphone. He did an awesome job. We were very proud parents that night!!!

I was super excited to work with the Basic Grey Archaic line of patterned paper and embellishments. I knew that I HAD to have it specifically for this layout. Although I used the dinosaur patterned paper for this layout, there are many other sheets that could be used for various layouts. Very cool funky patterns in great fall-like colors. I LOVE this paper!!!!

Challenges:
Dreamgirls Challenge Blog- create a layout featuring something that you are "proud" of. The layout must include chipboard and a sticker. Lucky for me, the chipboard elements are stickers!!!

Pencil Lines: Sketch #83- this layout was based on this sketch.

The Amazing Race

Do you ever have those moments where you have a layout all planned out in your head, you start putting it together, and it bombs??!! Well, that's what this layout was. After cutting up 2 sheets of beautiful Rusty Pickle paper I decided it just wasn't working out. So, I had to go back to the drawing board and try to salvage some of my patterned paper. Here's what I came up with. I also got to play with some of my new Glimmer Mist on the chipboard numbers. Fun stuff! If you've never heard of this you'll have to check it out. It's like spray paint with glitter!

Of coarse I can't do a layout anymore without a challenge!

Dreamgirls Challenge Blog-Challenge #2: Get Real!--this challenge was to create a layout with the title from a reality show. With the insane number of reality shows out there, this wasn't much of a challenge. Other requirements were to use felt and stamping somewhere in the layout.

Snapdragons Challenge Blog-Challenge #15: Modern Paper Piecing--this was kinda fun. The layout must include some sort of paper piecing. I found this great template for a turtle online and used that to make my turtle. Isn't he cute??

Sweet Dreams

Doesn't this just make you say, "awwwwwww...."? I created this layout for a new scrapbooking store in town--All About Pictures. I'm creating a few layouts to display in the store. This layout was a little of a challenge because I probably wouldn't have normally picked out these papers/embellishments. In the end I really like how it turned out!

I also created this layout for the "Dreamgirls" Challenge blog. Each month they will post 2 challenges on the 1st and the 15th. This is a brand new site! The challenge this month was to create a layout with "dream" incorporated into the layout. You also needed to include the following elements: scallops and/or curves & paint. You can check out this layout on their blog under "our reader's artwork". For each month they will pick a winner to receive prizes! Come check it out!
