Once Upon a Time...

Another layout of me. I know I'm feeling a little selfish. I have to make sure there are layouts of me in the scrapbook too!!

Challenge:
Dreamgirls- Create a layout with this picture as your inspiration. You also must make the layout about YOU + corrugated cardboard must be a part of your layout somewhere. I had a lot of fun working with the corrugated cardboard. This was a first time for me. I painted the cardboard with red and orange paint. I then inked a little pink. To top it off I smeared some brown Stickles all over--to make it sparkle!

Scrappy Girl Designs- May 21st Challenge--Bling it on!! Layout must use bling of some kind. I went kinda crazy with the bling--Stickles on the cardboard, outlining the flowers, and jewels.

By The Warm Fire

I don't create layouts with non-people photos very often. But, I always seem to take nature photos when we are out and about. I decided to create a layout of my favorite summertime activity--sitting by the campfire.

Challenges:
Sketch This: this layout was based on this sketch-
Scrappy Girl Designs: May 1st Challenge- create a layout using--1 picture, 1 button, 1 flower, 1 photo corner, and 1 piece of patterned paper.

Me

Since I'm not in very many photos, I thought I'd do another layout about me!

Challenges:
Itty Bitty Scrap Shack: this layout is based on this sketch-Scrappy Girl Designs: May 3rd challenge- create a layout using this quote "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."

Moments to Remember: Janet's May challenge- create a layout of featuring "you".

Snapdragons Challenge Blog: create a layout using 4 of 10 different elements. Elements I picked: stamped image ("Genuine"), Clear element ("Me"), Photo of Me, and Metal (brads on flowers).

Can anyone say challenge queen??? Really I just love trying to tie lots of elements together. I've found that it makes for quicker pages. It's also FUN!!! For this one I had a sketch, journaling, topic, and embellishments! Ready, set, go!!!

Spring Decoration

I got creative for this one! The Scrappy Girl Designs April kit came with a little chipboard bird book. I decided to take it apart, cover and decorate each bird and connect them to make a little door decoration.

Love Like This

Here I go again......challenge time!!!

Scrapping the Music: this weeks song is "Love Like This" by Natasha Bedingfield. I decided that this was my perfect opportunity to scrap a layout of my husband.

Scrappy Girl Designs: this week it was Origin's turn to post a challenge on the Scrappy Girl Designs message board. Origin's challenge was to complete a layout using 5 or more fonts. I went a little crazy at the LSS Friday night and bought "a few" packs of Thickers stickers. I love Thickers!!!!

Video Gamer

Getting back to some challenges.....one Moments to Remember message board challenge for April is to create a layout in 30 minutes or less. This WAS a challenge for me! I am a super slow scrapper, so I really had to think fast and not ponder things too much. Once I set my mind to it, I cranked it out right at 30 minutes!

This layout was completed using the Scrappy Girl Designs April kit--Cherry Arte: Girl Power.

Just Perfect

2nd layout from Scrappy Girl Designs April kit! This time I used the other half of the kit with Crate Paper: Sweet Branch paper. I decided to make this a very simple page utilizing the backside of the patterned paper with just a touch of the patterned side. By printing my photos in wallet size, I was able to put all 4 pictures on the page without looking cluttered.

Scrappy Girl Designs April Kit

Monday afternoon I received the Scrappy Girl Designs April kit!!! Yippee!!! I've been working hard this week to get some layouts completed. I should have everything completed by this weekend.

The unique thing about the SGD kit's is that you get TWO separate kits! So that means two different lines of paper with matching embellishments. For my first layout I used the Cherry Arte: Girl Power paper. I was a little leery when I opened it up. I have 2 boys so I have little use for girly paper. So, I decided to scrap a layout of one of my daycare kids. I just love these pictures I took last summer and they work perfect with this paper. Mya is such a cutie!

Turn it Up!

This was a really fun layout. I combined a few challenges to make this layout. It made it a little more interesting!

Scrappy Girl Designs April Challenge #1: Each week in April the design team at Scrappy Girl Designs will be posting a challenge. This week was Nikki's turn. Her challenge was to create a 6x12 layout that also included bling and rub-ons. It was kinda strange to work in such a "skinny" space, but it was fun!

MemoryWorks April Challenge #1- Scrapbook Recipes: Throughout the month of April Lacey is posting challenges on the MemoryWorks consultant message board. This first challenge was to create a layout or card using a sketch that she provided. I used her sketch for this layout!

Scrapping the Music
Challenge #31- Turn it Up: Lastly, Scrapping the Music posts a new song each week to use as inspiration. The song this week is "Turn it Up" by Aaron Lines. I used the song title for my title in this layout.

Phew! I know I'm kinda crazy, but it was fun putting everything today. Surprisingly it went really quick AND it was FUN!!!!

Who are you??

Oh my! I can't believe I haven't posted anything since Sunday! Yikes! Where did the time go?? I've been a single mom for a few days and I guess there just wasn't enough time in the day...

But now I'm back! This is another layout with the Jenni Bowlin papers from the Scrappy Girl Designs March kit. Kind of a fun layout with all my sons nicknames.

A New LIfe

Another layout of my sweet little new nephew, Zach--I'm sure there will be many, many more to come!!! This layout was completed using supplies from the March kit at Scrappy Girls Designs: Jenni Bowlin Tangerine patterned paper, blue cardstock, orange peel Stickles, Jenni Bowlin Alpha stickers, chipboard swirl, and wire thread. I'm quickly becoming addicted to Stickles! It great for adding a little sparkle or just using it as an accent. The wire thread is also a lot of fun--something that I've never used before. Come over to the Scrappy Girl Designs gallery and check out what the other design team members have created with this fantastic kit!

Altered Tin + Mini Album

I'm sorry I haven't posted many layouts this week. I've been really busy trying to finish this altered tin and mini album from the Scrappy Girl Designs March kit. This was my first "official" assignment as a Design Team member so I wanted to make sure I did a good job. I decided to make a little album about my daycare. Something that I can show current families and prospective families during an interview. I'm really happy with how it turned out---it was a big project!!

All supplies were from the Scrappy Girl Designs March kit: Dream Street Birdie Bits patterned paper, light blue and green cardstock, orange peel Stickles, Jenni Bowlin Chalkboard Alpha's, Jenni Bowlin Journaling sticker, ribbon/wire thread, brads, white rub-on doodles, and Creative Imaginations tin/album. This is only half of what actually came with the kit! I will be working on some layouts this weekend with the other half--stay tuned!!!!

Scrappy Girl Design Team!!!!!

I just HAD to post this right away.....I was selected to be on the design team at Scrappy Girl Designs!!!!!!!!!! This was the first time that I've ever even applied to be on a design team and honestly I didn't even think I would come close to making it. I'm shaking I'm so excited!!!! Whew! So what does this mean? Each month I will be sent the Scrappy Girl monthly kit. My "job" is to create layouts, altered projects, cards, whatever with the products. These will get posted in the gallery for everyone to see. I will also be an active member on the message board---posting comments, challenges, etc, etc.

Get ready---my first kit is being sent right away! I have lots to do!!!!!

I Love Mail!!!

Ok, so I am having the BEST mail week ever!!! First I received my kit from Moments to Remember. I haven't created anything yet, but I have a 2-page layout in the works. Hopefully, I will finish it tonight and I can post it tomorrow. Yesterday I received 2 packages--yes 2!!! The UPS truck came and delivered the March MemoryWorks Express Kit. Lots of really fun numbers and green paper. I have some pictures that I need to print up for that. Lastly, I received an RAK from Dawn at Scrappy Girl Designs. An RAK in scrappin' cyberworld is "Random Act of Kindness". Dawn hosted a little challenge to learn more about her and the first person to answer correctly won some free scrappin' supplies. I WON!! She totally spoiled me with this AWESOME kit she put together. I am in scrappin' heaven with all this new stuff!!! Hmmmm.....what should I do this weekend???

Here's a picture of all the goodies Dawn sent me. See what I mean?! Go check out her blog--she has some amazing pictures in there.

Thank You Card

A simple basic card.... I completed this card as a challenge at Scrappy Girl Designs. The challenge was to create a card with cardstock only(no patterned paper) and 1 rub-on, nothing else. I dug through my scraps pile to determine my colors. The star was cut with my Coluzzle and star template, Basic Grey "thank you" rub-on and a little doodling--DONE!!

Home

Only a couple more challenges left to post from the Scrappy Girl Designs CyberCrop (yes that was LAST weekend--I'm a little behind). This challenge was to create a layout using 10 different fonts in the title. At first I was like--wha? But in ended up being really easy AND I really like how it turned out. I couldn't believe that I actually had 10 different black letter fonts! I have more letters than I thought!

Supplies used: January MemoryWorks Express Kit and misc. alphas.

Sisters

Todays layout is dedicated to my sister! Right now she is at the hospital having her baby!!!! I will be heading over there later this afternoon. I'm sure I will be posting more tomorrow.

This was challenge #7 at Scrappy Girl Designs cybercrop (only 3 more to go!). The challenge was to create a layout with matching embellishments. All the embellishments must be the same color--they could be varies shades of this color. I have lots of pink stuff, but never get to use it with 2 boys. Thought this would be a great chance to use some of it up. All supplies used are from the February MemoryWorks Express Kit (except for a couple of the big flowers, pink chipboard letters, and letter stickers).
