Challenge #51: Turquoise and Purple

Another week, another challenge! This week was truly a challenge for me. I am not a big fan of the color purple. I rarely use it in layouts. This weeks challenge at Scrap Whispers is to create a layout (or card) using the colors turquoise and purple. I found the perfect photos and patterned paper for the challenge. It magically went together really easily! They are really fun colors to use together. Stop over to the Scrap Whispers blog and submit your turquoise and purple layout for a chance to win a prize!!!

Challenge #50: Stars and Spikes
The Scrap Whispers challenges are BACK!!!!! I am so excited. Mostly to inspire me to get back into my scrapbooking. I haven't scraped anything in soooooo long! First I need to clean off my desk (which has been a dumping spot lately for anything and everything!).
Our first challenge for the new year is a fun one. This week's challenge is to create a layout using "stars & spikes". Spikes?? Interpret whatever way you wish! There are so many different directions you could take with it.
Since Adam is my little sports star AND his football shoes have spikes, here's what I created:
Make sure to stop over to the Scrap Whispers blog and forum. We are getting ready to start our new round of the "whisper". If you would like to play----stop in and sign up. You are only committed to completing one layout to play. Super, super fun and easy!

Challenge #43: Digital Scraplift
Within the last few years digital has taken the scrapbooking world into a new realm. While I haven't tried my hand at it (yet), there are some AMAZING digi artists out there. My personal favorite is an online friend of mine--Leah. Leah creates layouts in both digital form and paper. I love her funky, yet simplistic style. Leah also has a digital shop online--Funky Playground. Make sure to stop over and check it out!
This week the Nilsa from Scrap Whispers challenges you to scraplift your favorite digital scrapbooker. I decided to scraplift one of Leah's digital layouts.
Here's Leah's layout:

And here's my take on it:

I also want to take note that this is my 100th layout of the year!!!!! I still have a lot of work cut out for me if I plan to make that 150 goal, but I'm still very excited! Whoo hoo!!!!

Scrap Whispers Blog Hop: Week 4
This week for the Scrap Whispers Blog Hop the design team is showcasing the very talented “Sarah”!!
Sarah had some great layouts to lift! I choose this really sweet layout to scrap this birth announcement.
Here is Sarah's layout:

And here's my scraplift of the layout:
All of Sarah's layouts were all so cool! I had a really hard time choosing just one. In the end I just really loved the row of buttons on the left. The simplicity of this layout really drew me in.

Challenge #39: Mismatched Letters
This week on the Scrap Whispers challenge we have a FUN one for you!!!! I love layouts that use mismatched letters. They are so fun and whimsical! Our challenge for you this week is to create a layout with a mismatched title. Use a combination of at least three different fonts and/or colors. Mix and match however you please!
Here's my take on the challenge (using the August "Life is a Zoo" Moments to Remember kit):
I used 7 different stickers letters in this layout. Such a great way to use up those extra letters in your pack. I really need to do this more often!!!

Challenge #28: Double Jeopardy
Scrap Whispers Challenge #28 is slightly unusual. We want you to split your page in two and create one layout but with 2 different sides to it. So for example - heaven and hell (white and angelic side v red and black side); sunshine and darkness; ying and yang; red and blue on one side, yellow and green on the other; maybe soccer or football team supporters; a little girl who loves all things barbie and pink but who also loves rock concerts or cars; different seasons....etc, etc. The possibilities are a plenty!
I didn't quite split my page in half, but instead decided to take this challenge and put more of it in the journaling. Here's my take:

NSBD Whisper Challenge
Today is National Scrapbooking Day!!!!!!! There's only one way to celebrate and that's to scrap the day away!!!
The design team members at Scrap Whispers decided to do a little blog hopping in honor of this super awesome day! Some of you may have stumbled upon my blog by way of Telah--a big shout out to Telah!!! Thanks sweetie! If not, you can check out all the details of our ubber cool blog hop by stopping over to the Scrap Whispers blog for more details.
Here's a layout I completed a while back, but thought I'd bring it back out for this special occasion. I run a childcare business in my home so my kids have been around lots of babies over the past 4 years. My son Dylan is awesome with babies! He's loves being goofy and who better to entertain than a baby! I like to call him the "baby whisperer".
Alright ladies---thanks for checking out my blog! Make sure to sign on to be a follower. This past month I've been a bad, bad blogger, but normally I will blog almost daily! I love sharing my creations and chatting about scrappy "stuff". Every once in awhile I'll even send out some RAK's!!!! What the heck---anyone who leaves a comment and signs on as a follower to my blog (if you aren't already!!!) will be eligible for a super duper RAK from me!!! After all, it is NSD---let's live it up!
Time to hop on over to Karry's blog and see what she's got up her sleeves.......Oh, and if you're wondering what all the crazy bold letters are----well, it's all part of the Scrap Whispers blog hop (hint, hint). Happy scrappy day!
